The team

Jon Paul Ladd

Founder/Head Photographer

Winning a photography prize in primary school sparked a passion in me that never faded. From that moment, I knew photography would be more than just a hobby—it would be my career. Over the years, I’ve poured my heart into honing my craft, refining every detail to bring my vision to life.

Today, I’m proud to say we deliver what I truly believe is the best corporate portrait service in the business. My commitment to excellence drives me to produce outstanding results for each and every client, ensuring we remain leaders in our field.

  • In 1994, an 11-year-old boy from Essex climbed aboard a coach with his classmates, bound for a weeklong school trip to the historic City of York. Tucked in his bag was a simple wind-on film camera, its back adorned with handwritten notes from his photographer father—a crash course in image composition tailored for a sugar-fueled kid.

Armed with these tips, the boy explored York’s iconic landmarks: the Tudor streets, York Minster, the sweeping Moors, and Scarborough Beach. Each shot was taken with purpose, guided by his father’s advice and an eager eye, all in preparation for the class photography competition back home.

When the entries were unveiled, there was no contest. While others submitted photos of packed lunches and pajama-clad friends, his thoughtfully composed shots of Scarborough Beach and The Shambles—captured with the two-thirds rule—stood out. First prize? A £10 WH Smith voucher and a spark that would ignite a lifelong passion.

Fast forward 30 years, and that boy is now a professional photographer, fortunate to work with global clients everyday.

Photography isn’t just a job for me; it’s my passion. And I know I’m doing something right.

  • See below for some general guidelines.

    1. Consider Your Industry

    • Corporate/Traditional: Wear formal attire, such as a suit and tie for men or a blazer with a blouse or dress shirt for women.

    • Creative Industries: A smart-casual outfit works well, such as a tailored jacket without a tie or a stylish top.

    • Tech/Startup: A polished but relaxed look like a nice button-down shirt or a casual blazer.

    2. Colors

    • Opt for solid, neutral, or muted colors like navy, gray, black, or white.

    • Avoid overly bright or neon colors, which can be distracting.

    • Avoid busy patterns like stripes, plaids, or florals, which might not photograph well.

    • Jewel tones (e.g., emerald, sapphire) can add a subtle pop of color without overwhelming the shot.

    3. Fit and Style

    • Choose well-fitted clothing. Avoid anything too tight or baggy.

    • Keep jewelry and accessories minimal to avoid distractions.

    4. Grooming

    • Make sure your clothes are clean and wrinkle-free.

    • Pay attention to grooming (e.g., neat hair, trimmed beard for men, minimal makeup for women if desired).

    5. Background and Branding

    • If your headshot will be on your company’s website, consider colors that complement the background or align with your company’s branding.

  • We invite you to choose any background colour. We can shoot on our portable backgrounds and can bring any colour you like.

    Or..

Leave it us to design some options for you. We have the experience to adapt to any output and can produce images that compliment your brand.
